While the presence of a beloved, trusted, protective force does much to quell the physical expression of societal violence, the same cannot be said for a destructive, racist, fear-mongering security force. Beyond the character of the disciplinary powers that be, crime has a robust correlation to the difficulty of survival. We need a War on Poverty.
