Yes, I must constantly reblog the beautiful faces and bodies of my brothers of color. Not because I’m interested in the hyper-sexualization or sexual commidification of black/brown bodies, but because I recognize that there is something beautiful in the resistance of the normative standards of beauty and blackness and browness as well as their interplay with one another. There is something beautiful, sensual, sexual and intellectual in the beauty that exists within the black/brown bodied man who exists outside of and within so-called hyper-masculinity..he is the counter-narrative, and to acknowledge this his beauty is my beauty, your beauty, a color(ed) beauty..well, this is the oppositional gaze at her best. :p
